What we collect
Your sign-in details (email, and your name if you use Google), the VINs you look up, the history reports you buy, and your plan and report credits. The connector receives only what Claude sends to a tool, which is a VIN. It does not read your conversations, memory or files. Photos of VINs stay with Claude; we only get the characters.
What reports contain
Vehicle records only: specifications, recalls, title brands, total-loss, odometer, theft and title-history records. No report includes the name, address or other personal information of anyone who owned the vehicle, and we never look it up.
How long we keep it
Reports you buy are kept on your account for one year so you can open them again, unless you delete them sooner from your account page. Free lookups are cached by vehicle model for a week and contain nothing about you. Credit counts are kept for about 13 months.
Who processes it
- Clerk: signing you in when you connect the service to your assistant. Data: email address, name if you sign in with Google, sign-in records.
- VinAudit: providing NMVTIS history reports and market values. Data: the VIN you ask about and, for a market value, the mileage, condition and damage Claude passes; no information about you.
- NHTSA (U.S. government): VIN decoding, recalls, complaints and crash ratings. Data: the VIN or the vehicle's make, model and year; no information about you.
- Vercel: hosting the website and the connector, and counting page visits. Data: IP address and request logs; page-visit statistics without cookies or a persistent identifier.
- Upstash: storing your reports, report credits and plan. Data: your account id, the VINs you looked up, the reports, valuation counts and cached valuations.
- Stripe: taking payment and managing your plan. Data: email, payment details and billing country; card details go to Stripe, never to us.
What we don't do
We don't sell your data, show ads, share the VINs you look up with sellers or dealers, or look up vehicle owners.
Your choices
You can disconnect the service from your assistant at any time and delete reports from your account page. To delete your account and data, email privacy@wikivec.com. The service is only for people aged 18 and over.
