- What counts as a report?
- One VIN's history from NMVTIS. Asking about the same VIN again within 30 days, or opening its report page, doesn't count again. Free decoding never counts.
- What's a market value?
- What the car is worth (retail, trade-in or wholesale) from comparable vehicles, adjusted for mileage, condition and known damage. Free accounts get 3 a month and plans 30; they don't use history reports, and asking the same question again within 7 days doesn't count.
- What if a lookup fails?
- If the provider doesn't answer or doesn't recognise the VIN, the report or valuation isn't counted. A VIN that fails the check digit is never looked up.
- What happens when I run out?
- Claude tells you. Monthly reports renew with each billing month; yearly ones with each year. Write to us if you need more.
- Can I cancel?
- Yes, at any time from your account page. You keep your reports until the end of the period you paid for.
- How does this compare with Carfax?
- A single Carfax report costs $44.99 and includes service-shop data we don't have. Our reports come from NMVTIS, the federal title database: title brands, insurance total losses, odometer and theft records.
